olawale3The husband of late Mrs. Eunice Olawale, Pastor Elisha Olawale, who was murdered in the early hours of July 9 while preaching the gospel, a few metres away from her house in Kubwa by unidentified miscreants, says he has truly forgiven those who murdered her.

Pastor Olawale who said he still cannot get over his wife’s brutal death, told DAILYPOST on Sunday that the idea of getting justice was to fulfill all righteousness as far as law and human rights were concerned.

He, however, added that there was no need to avenge her death.

He said, “I don’t want to go back on all I have said. As much as I am battling with her demise and going through the pain especially when I look at my children, I don’t think paying evil with evil is the best way out.

“My wife was a child of God. She had no issues with anybody. As a Christian, it is not in my nature to seek personal revenge. God will fight my fight.

“I am not a lawyer or a law enforcement agent. All I have to say is that I have forgiven those who murdered my wife.

“There is no need to avenge her death.”

Speaking on why his late wife’s burial date was postponed, Olawale reinstated it was to enable the family carry out a post-mortem examination on the body of the deceased, with a view to thoroughly investigating the immediate and remote cause(s) of her death.

He declined to disclose if the result was out or not.

Meanwhile, recall that reports had it that six persons had been arrested in connection with the murder and were undergoing interrogation.

When contacted, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, told journalists that the Command was still on the case.

He said, “We made some arrests and we are still on to get the culprits.”

Manzah, however, did not specify how many suspects were arrested for the crime.

Asked if the arrested suspects have thus far given any useful information to the police, the spokesperson said, “All I can say for now is we are on top of our game. We will address the issue when investigations from homicide section yield fruitful results.

“The outcome of the investigation would be made public,” he added.
