bamgbolaThe Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Lagos chapter has announced a three-day fasting with prayers for the nation while calling on all Nigerians to be patient with the reforms of President Muhammadu Buhari.

CAN charged Nigerians and Lagos State residents in particular, to join hands with President Buhari in fighting corruption until it is totally destroyed in the nation. Lagos CAN Chairman Apostle Alexander Bamgbola said the special three-day fasting and prayers for the nation and Lagos State will take place on May 10th, 11th and 12th 2016. Bamgbola, said Christians of all dominations under the CAN will fast and pray for Nigeria and Lagos State. “We will then come together on Thursday, May 12th to cry unto God.

“We all call upon all Nigerians in general and Lagos State residents in particular, to please be patient with our present national government, headed by President Mohamudu Buhari. In our patience, let us join hands in praying for this government. They are no doubt, the sacrifices we must make now, to get what we desire and deserve as a people, including good infrastructure and long term prosperity in our nation.

“We enjoin all Nigerians to please join hands with the president in fighting corruption until it is totally destroyed in our nation.”

He said, “It should be clear to all Nigerians now after fifty-five years, that if we do not destroy this demon, it will destroy Nigeria. How do we join hand in destroying corruption? First, by taking a deliberate, personal decision as a true Nigerian, to steer clear of all appearance of the evil of corruption.”

“We must caution our today’s rulers at all levels to handle the affairs of this nation Nigeria very carefully, if we have a sincere desire to build, through God, a nation of peace, harmony and prosperity, where no man is oppressed.”

“The absolute majority is composed of Christians and Muslims who have lived together in peace and harmony for over a century, hence, it should be clear, that no ruler or political leader, can successfully rule a nation like Nigeria without regular and continuous consultation with the religious leaders of the land.

The Secretary of CAN, Elder (Dr) Israel Akinadewo‎ remarked that in the case of unemployment our youth should be productive in order to help themselves.
