An indigene of Delta State of the Itsekiri ethnic group, Ruth Nick Essien is also the Founder and President of the Female Ministers’ Forum which has the vision of connecting, mentoring and promoting female ministers and preachers through open discussions and interactions. She heads yet another ministry known as Ruth Essien Marriage Academy( REMA) which is meant for couples and with the major objective of making the institution of marriage a sweet and enjoyable one and Ruth Essien Female Institute for Leadership (REFIL) a female-only Bible school.

Through her numerous activities including crusades and divine ministrations, many marriages have been saved. Her teachings have equally influenced so many singles and many have had the opportunity to locate their purposes on earth, pursue their God-given assignments and end up leading fulfilled lives.

Pastor Ruth was a Caterer until she had an encounter and the call from the Lord Jesus Christ. She has supported many non-government organizations and religious ministries. A recipient of the Symbol of Hope Woman of Courage Award, the Woman of Merit Gold Award and Influential Icon For Hope Award and many others, she has 24 published books.

Her call is multidimensional in nature and it impacts both Pentecostal and Orthodox churches. She is an ardent teacher of godly family values and a firm believer in the transformation of Nigeria. Pastor Ruth has touched the lives and homes of many through her pragmatic and elucidating approach to the preaching of the word of God.

She is married to Capt. Nick Elisha Essien, who is a professional airline pilot and an ordained pastor. Their marriage is blessed with children and grandchildren.
