I had this dream about five years ago now but I have not forgotten.
It was raining, and someone came to knock my door. When I opened up, it was my dad who had died in 1992. He appeared to me. I saw him hiding along a wall of the house while the rain was falling and the rain water was splashing all over him. He used his both hands to pack his trousers up and he was weeping profusely, begging me to help him, that the rain was beating on him. He was haggardly dressed, a faded ankara and rubber slippers.
I remember that I began to weep for him in my dream because i was helpless. It was like I could not help him. Suddenly, I woke up and saw remnant of tears in my eyes. I could not tell anybody about this because i was frightened.
One day, I spoke to a older friend. He said I should go and do sacrifice, (what we Yoruba call Sara) for him. You see, i am a Christian, (though not born again then) but i have always been against practices that do not give glory to God. I would not remember if I did that sacrifice or not. But that dream comes to my mind always. Even now that i am writing, tears is dripping down my cheek. I feel something is wrong with him. But as I knew him, my dad was not a bad person while alive. He made the normal mistake any man could make. We children loved him. I was close to him so I knew him. Ah!, i am feeling dizzy right now. Please what is wrong with him? How can i tackle this dream?
