Bishop Tony Marioghae, president of The Evangelical Ark Mission (TEAM) International, has been appointed president of Nigerians in Diaspora Organization, Philippines (NIDOPHIL). The new executives were officially inaugurated during the 64th Independence Day anniversary in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
Other members of the executives are Mr. Ajayi Ayodele as Vice President, Dr. Francis Kayode Ashipaoloye as Corporate Secretary, and Mr. Mohammed Abubakar Danjuma as Auditor. Other officers include Mr. Okoye C. Christian as Treasurer, Mr. Fred Nosakhare as Financial Secretary, and Ms. Afuecheta Chidinma Stella as Public Relations Officer.
The event, which highlighted Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, featured speeches, video presentations, traditional dances, and other creative displays. The celebration captivated the attending dignitaries from the Philippines, who were treated to a showcase of Nigeria’s famed hospitality.

The well-organized event, hosted by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization, Philippines (NIDOPHIL), in partnership with the Nigerian Embassy, took place at the prestigious Vikings Restaurant in the Mall of Asia. It drew a large turnout of Nigerians from various walks of life.
In his keynote address, Hon. Oloje Adeshina, Charge D’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Manila, provided a brief history of Nigeria, highlighting the country’s vast resources and potential.
During the event, outstanding Nigerians in the Philippines were recognized for their contributions in various fields. The awards, presented by the Nigerian Embassy, aimed to promote hard work, excellence, and high moral standards among Nigerians living abroad. Several newly appointed NIDO executives were among the award recipients.

In his acceptance speech, NIDO President and award recipient, Bishop Tony Marioghae, called on Nigerians to uphold strong moral values and unity of purpose. He urged the community to confront challenges with determination and a mindset of victory, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to overcome divisions and setbacks.
“For many years, Nigerians in the diaspora here in the Philippines have felt divided, disillusioned, and sometimes defeated by circumstances beyond their control,” Marioghae said. “We must work together in unity to achieve our collective aspirations and restore our lost glory. The actions of a few misguided individuals should not define the noble contributions of the majority. By engaging in positive ventures, we can change the negative media narrative and create admirable stories.”
Marioghae stressed that leadership is defined by character and vision, not by titles. He promised that the new administration would uplift the image of Nigeria and Nigerians through targeted empowerment programs, providing moral and mental support for the community. “Our tent is big enough to shelter and protect our people within the bounds of Philippine law. The days of harassing innocent Nigerians are over.”
He concluded his speech with a call for unity and forward-thinking, stating, “A new era has begun. No one will be left behind on this path to greatness. We will serve everyone equally and ensure that the voices of the minority are heard. Let us leave behind the past and step into the bright future ahead, making Nigeria proud once again.”
Bishop Marioghae closed by quoting Martin Luther King Jr.: “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
