The Overseer of Peace of God Ministry, Archbishop Mary Ajisafe has said that Nigerians, in general, should go back to righteousness in all things and the Church of God should repent and seek the face of God for this country to turn a new leaf. Without that, we would all be wallowing in this parlous state till Jesus comes back.
Speaking at the 23rd anniversary of the Church and 31st year of her call into the ministry, Ajisafe said the state of the church and Nigeria is a source of pain to her and all who love this country. ‘The attitude of blaming Buhari all the time is wrong. God puts him there for a reason. God cannot be wrong.
The Bible tells us that no one becomes the head of a country without the knowledge of God. When the people are bad, God will give them a bad leader. Before the 2015 elections that brought Buhari in, I went to God in prayer to ask about who will take over and God showed me Buhari.
I told my Church members that Buhari would be elected. God knows how got there. God puts him there. If we want a good nation, Nigeria must be good. If Nigerians are good, Nigeria will be good.
Ajisafe said our Churches are now about money. From January to December, it’s all about money. It was not so in the days of our fathers like Prophet Obadare. How many churches still do revival or crusades to win souls? These are the things we are committed to in this ministry.
On the next elections, the archbishop cautions that ‘we Christians must pray properly well before the next elections and we must all come together, without regards to denominationalism. As long as we call on the name of Jesus, let us all come together and call the name. Hasn’t He promised to respond to those who call on Him?
Peace of God Ministries was established in October 1998, immediately after the revival of 21 days in Love Garden Field of Olumegbon via western Avenues Surulere.
According to the revelation of God for several years of working for Him as Counsellor, revivalist and Evangelist with powerful Prophetic gift, God, Ajisafe said, insisted that she should go and establish His Church with the message from late Prophet J. F. Ayeni of Christ Apostolic Church, AGS CAC Festac Avenue and Pastor Olowere of Christ Apostolic Oke Agbara, also Prophet Samuel of Ebenezer Baptist Church Okoro, Oke Itunu Ibadan.
‘Also God spoke to me with a powerful voice that “Go and establish my Church’. I did not want to establish any Church but I want to work for Him. For 22 years after I obeyed Him, God has been my Father, my backbone despite the tribulations. He stood by me. The one that sent me is with me.’
This ministry is really into evangelism on different media. We evangelize with all our power. Our evangelism team, including all members of the church, workers and the overseer are really crying for Jesus in the morning.
We evangelise with handbills, tracts and drama. We love music and dancing but in a prophetic way. And we also allow Holy Spirit to control at all times. We believe so much in His words and His directives. Our main message is Salvation, You must be born again.
The anniversary was attended by Bishop Stephen Adegbite, CAN chairman, Lagos state, Apostle Enyinnaya Okwuonu, PFN chairman Lagos, Rev Dr Mrs Glory Akpabio, the PFN women leader in Lagos and so many other dignitaries in the Lagos Christian circle.
In his goodwill message, Okwuonu said it was cheering that Ajisafe remembers her source and glorifies God on her 23rd anniversary and 31st year of calling. ‘If Christians do this always, they would not deviate from the calling of God in their lives when success comes.’
Bishop S.T.B Adegbite, the Lagos CAN leader spoke of the personality of the archbishop. ‘She is an honest person. I worked actively with her when I was the treasurer of Lagos CAN. She is a mother and leader who can be trusted. Not only this, she is a kind-hearted person who loves to give. She is a giver, no wonder God exalts her on all fronts.’
Adegbite and Okwuonu both caution Nigerians on the issue of immoralities and righteousness, saying the evil we see in this country today do not just start overnight.
They culminate from the ills, mistakes, negligences of the past. Nigeria, both leaders said, need prayers and concerted efforts. All of us should pray for the country and turn a new leaf. May God repair this country.’
