Multiple award-winning African Gospel music icon, Dupe Olulana, has stunned fans and colleagues with a heartfelt and unusually romantic celebration of her husband, producer, manager, promoter, band founder, and life partner, Pastor Winston Kolawole Olulana, as he marked his 70th birthday on Friday, September 5, 2025, to the glory of God.
The internationally acclaimed singer, known for her evergreen Gospel hits, showered her husband with a rare, public outpouring of love that has been trending within and outside the entertainment industry.
Breaking from her reserved, devout Christian outlook as a long-standing SU believer, Dupe Olulana went the extra mile to honour Pastor Olulana with an emotional and poetic tribute on social media. Her message read in part:
“Here he is! The favoured one, an instrument of grace and encouragement in the hands of his Maker, our Maker, Maker of all! God’s undeterred servant. Unapologetically Christian, whose faith in the Almighty God remains steadfast in the face of WHATEVER!”
She went on to affirm her gratitude and love:
“I’m forever grateful to the Almighty God for giving you to me, Winston Kolawole Olulana, and for keeping you for me! I don’t even know what I would have been without God bringing us together. You are a real Champion. You taught me how to express myself and also gave me room for expression! Thanks for all of these. I love you so much, my dear husband, Pastor, and partner for life! You are blessed! Amen! Happy 70th and more!!”
A Music Legend in His Own Right
Pastor Winston Kolawole Olulana is a celebrated Gospel music producer and promoter whose career spans more than four decades. He currently serves as a national director on the board of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN).
His journey with Dupe began in the 1970s, when they were both members of the legendary Gospel music band, The Assurance Voices. Later, he founded Dupe Olulana and the Hosanna Band under their label, Hosanna Promotion Limited.
He produced Dupe’s debut hit album, Jesu Mbo (1987), and has since been behind all her evergreen projects in Yoruba, Igbo, English, and French. Beyond his wife’s career, he has produced albums for many Gospel artistes across Nigeria and Africa, mentored countless talents, and helped build key structures in the Gospel music industry locally and internationally.
Beyond Music
Pastor Olulana is the founding Senior Pastor of Hosanna International Bible Church, Onipanu, Lagos. A trained physiotherapist turned full-time minister, he has also been instrumental in spreading the Gospel worldwide alongside his wife.
He publishes the Christian newspaper Gospel Voice and family magazine The Parents’ Pride, and previously served as Editor-in-Chief of the Canada-based global newspaper The Nigerian-Canadian News.
A man of many gifts, he is also a prolific songwriter and author, with several published books to his credit.
As Pastor Olulana turns 70, the music and Christian community celebrate not just a producer and pastor, but a visionary whose legacy continues to shape Gospel music and ministry across continents.
