Many Nigerian Church people will never obey Jesus on this. For them, Jesus can’t be serious! He does not understand the realities of this times, after all, He left this world over 2000 years ago. The current Christians and Churchgoers, led by their pastors, want instant merciless judgements on enemies, real or imaginary. For them, when an ant stings you mercilessly, you kill it mercilessly.
Have you ever heard a pastor preach, “Love your enemies, pray for them…”? Have you? So many of them (not all anyway) have their understanding and solutions.
When it comes to blessings, evangelism or giving, etc, they are New Testament Christians. But when it comes to enemies, that old woman in the village, the neighbour who looked at you somehow last week, that boss in your office, etc, many Nigerian Church leaders have taught Nigerian Christians and Churchgoers to quit the New Testament, forget Jesus’ method and become the disciples of David and followers of Isaiah, the pundits of the Old Testament!
One of such pastors told me that, after all, the Old Testament is also in the Bible, and Jesus said He did not come to destroy the Old Testament, He came to fulfil it.
You will hear them pray concerning the enemies…
*’Thunder, locate those who say e no go better for me.
*’Enemies in my father’s house begin to waka lost.
*’Let trailer hit those who wish me evil as they go out today.
*’My enemies, ‘Die! Die! Die! Fall and die by fire!
These ignorant followers, in their high-velocity enemy consciousness, will never read their bibles but follow ‘My G.O said…, my pastor said…,’ It is unknown to them that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood.
That man you think is against you has a spirit controlling him. That mama is not your enemy. That sister is not your enemy. Stop asking motor to kill her. Deal with the spirit spiritually.
If the people they call enemies die today, does that put an end to their problems? In most cases, the problems remain or just starting for others. It goes to show that the spirit behind the problem still lives. When your so-called enemies die, the spirit simply migrates into another person, and the battle continues.
Fight the spirit with the Word. Stop fighting the sister or the old woman you call an enemy. Stop praying ignorant prayers that have become meal tickets for some Church leaders. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal! Stop dealing in carnality. Be the Christian you call yourself.
If your pastor refused to show you the right verses that will emancipate you, pick your Bible like the Berean Christian and study! If your Church has no time for Bible Study, no weekly programme to study the Good Book, and they are not ready to do it, find some online programs on Bible Study or relocate your membership to other Churches where they do. Who says so? ME, BOLA ADEWARA!
BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU DISCUSS WITH YOUR SPOUSE ABOUT YOUR PAST.
Some preachers want to keep you in bondage by dealing in the Old Testament, so they can keep you as their ATMs. Christians migrate to the New Testament. If the Old Testament was not faulty, there wouldn’t be the New. David, Isaiah, Haggai, Jonah, etc. are just prophets. They are not our perfect examples! Jesus is our PERFECT EXAMPLE. Follow Him. Follow whatever he says on enemies. He will not kill the people you call enemies simply because you call them enemies.
Remember, there are people also reporting you to Him as their enemies. So if Jesus were to be killing as reports (prayers) come, you and your enemies would have died. We, however, thank God for not acting on every prayer point of man, but only on prayers that have to do with His will.
