ENEMY CONSCIOUSNESS: How powerful in the devil?

For so many Christians, the morbid fear of the enemy is crippling. Despite their claims to have faith in Christ, many of them have graduated their search for enemies to the realm of cockroaches, wall gecko, cobwebs, etc.

Preachers who pander to them go ahead to preach on so many types of spirits troubling them: slow-motion spirit, cobweb spirit, Ogbanje spirit, mammy water spirit, spiritual husband spirit, etc. Some Christians would say they don’t eat snails because of slow-motion spirit, don’t eat bush meat because it is sold by witches, etc. They see enemies everywhere, see the devil in everything.

The fact is no one is doubting the existence of these demons but for a Christian, a true believer, born again, how powerful is the enemy? Is it right to harp on these enemies all the time as if Jesus is dead? Must Christians place so much emphasis on the devil as if they are this powerful? What did Jesus say about His followers’ approach to their perceived enemies?
