POWERED BY NIGERIA CRYOUT

132 EDO HOUSE, VICTORIA ISLAND LAGOS

Nigeria National Christian Coalition NNCC is a Christian Political Empowerment Forum.

We believe in the empowerment, political consciousness and strategic positioning as well as political engagement of the Church of JESUS CHRIST in Nigeria. We represent Christians and negotiate as a Christian Pressure Group and a Christian Political base for Christians in Nigeria. We dialogue, evolve, secure and present the Interests of Christians within Nigeria as well as Nigerians in Diaspora. We also engage with all Christian bodies, to generate
the best outcomes for Christians politically and in negotiations with the political class. We are also committed to help Midwife a New Nigeria. God has mandated us to engage with other stakeholders in Nigeria for a National rebirth. He has also instructed us to work towards a Generational shift and the evolution of a New Nigeria and a New breed of leaders as well as well as a new political dispensation which will evolve from the 50 million Youth Population in Nigeria, so that Nigeria can transition to a new Generation in peace and harmony.
We have already consulted with a lot of Christian leaders in view of the above and many Christian Groups have joined the move both from the North and from the South and many church leaders are on board with us. It is in view of our reach and discussions that we are making this statement

THE FULANI QUESTION

Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) who spoke to the entire Southern Nigerian people, because Southern Governors met in Enugu days earlier and demanded that the next President of Nigeria must come from the South set the stage for 2023 election. Hakeem, the mouthpiece of the Northern Fulani Muslim establishment, came out, emitting fire. He shouted down the South and its 17 governors and boasted that his North had enough votes to defeat them and produce the next President. He said: “We will lead Nigeria the way we have led Nigeria before. Whether we are president or vice-president, we will lead Nigeria “
The premise of his speech suggested that
The Fulani has been in control of Nigeria since independence, whether as President or Vice President
It also suggests that out of the ethnic groups in Nigeria, the Fulani must always be President or Vice President.
Lastly it admits that every ill caused by wrong-headed direction of the Nigerian state, has been caused by the Fulani whom Hakeem said have always been in power and wants to continue being in power
We, on consultation with our different network partners cross the Nation are aware that Hakeems summation even though true in the past is no longer true.

An example is below-:

Revd. Shehu Luke Arewa Christians and indigenous Pastors [ACIPA] Chairman wrote in his article yesterday -:
“The Hausa are fast re-awakening to the consciousness of their ancestral land, the menace of the Fulani and marginalization. This has been proven with proclamations of elitists Hausas as much as commoners. This hold same with all other tribes in Northern Nigeria as well as Southern Nigeria. By the same token there is a huge dissent in the North against Fulani running mate for Asiwaju Tinubu. It has becoming evident that Nigerians desire a shift from the past and all attempts to resist the shift may spell doom. “

APC MUSLIM -MUSLIM TICKET OF ASIWAJU BOLA TINUBU AND KASHIM SHETTIMA

A dare to the Church!

Tinubu while understanding the growing anti Fulani hegemony sentiment, decided to ride, on it and insisted on a Northeast Vice President of Hausa or Kanuri stock. However, he has made the greatest misstep of his political career, and in years to come he will realize that it was because he disrespected the church.

Vice President Osinbajo was his political protegee and colleague. The church can ignore their personal disagreements on their ambitions. However, to ignore the whole of the church and her interests and to treat the church like a conquered force who has no say going forward has been his worst mistake. With his conduct, Tinubu has therefore shown that he has no regard whatsoever to the church of our Lord Jesus Christ in Nigeria.

When APC started their Muslim-Muslim ticket idea, we imagined that they would engage with Christians and help them understand and negotiate while involving them in their decision making as any inclusive party would do. On consultations with our network, we found out that there were certain individuals who were a No -no to the Body of Christ. We even had some of our people who were ready to discuss possibilities of a Muslim – Muslim ticket if there are technocrats on the ticket. They were ready to discuss and negotiate Christian interests with them even though they were very unhappy with the arrangement of a one faith ticket.

However, the two NO- nos which none of our Christian networks wanted were Governor EL- Rufai and former Governor Kashim Shettima. The former was rejected for his history of Christian marginalization and what many even see as Christian persecution through his policies.

The latter, Kashim Shettima, was even more rejected based on his pivotal role on the Chibok Girls debacle and the convictions of many people who believed that he set up former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and was in engagement with Boko Haram and terrorism in the country. It is instructive that when National Presidential Power changed to his party APC, this same Shettima was the figure head of Boko Haram amnesty, their assimilation and other policies all of which favored Boko Haram. It is no wonder therefore when we heard that Boko Haram wanted Shettima as Vice President of Nigeria. This being with the obvious view that they had a friend in Shettima, who when in government will continue to protect them while they continue to carry out their mayhem, terrorism, kidnapping and killings of citizens of the Nation Nigeria

Tinubu in bowing to this pressure and choosing Shettima has spat in the face of the church of our Lord Jesus Christ in Nigeria, and he must be ready for the consequences. He has also clearly shown the disregard and the arrant disdain in which he holds the church and how he disregards her interests on the altar of his ambition

Our God will respond!

Tinubu ‘s actions has shown that he deliberately insulted the Church. How do you choose a man who is clearly identified with the killers of Christians? This is a man who always identifies with and advocates for the interests of these killers. Furthermore, he has been unapologetic about his actions and was also the arrowhead of those who pushed the last Christian President out of office with ignominy. Tinubu therefore in choosing Shettima has not only despised Christians he has pitched his tent with the enemies and the killers of indigenous Christian populations in the North and South of Nigeria. Tinubu is now equally accountable for their blood which is crying

OUR SUMMATION
In view of the above, which we found in all consultations with our networking partners and leaders of the Christian faith in Nigeria.
We want to state the stand of NNCC and all Christians in Nigeria-:

APC is an enemy party to all Christians in Nigeria on account of the above enumerated facts. In view of that, neither we nor any of our networks are ready for any negotiations or discussions with APC forthwith. We advise that any Christian who engages with APC or votes for them in any regard is doing so as an enemy of the church of our Lord Jesus Christ and the interests of his church in Nigeria. We and many other Christians tried our best to avert this possibility but none of the engagements with APC was countenanced and the party was not inclusive of Christian interests which is further confirmed by their recent actions and choices.

Given Hakeems summation, the reaction should have been that it is time for the Fulani to abstain from contesting any prominent National Political office and that during 2023 election any mandate having Fulani for VP and President ought to be rejected. However, Tinubu in trying to move with the cry for change choose the wrong person-an enemy of the church, therefore the church has no other option than to encourage our people to engage with the other 2 viable parties. Shettima is totally unacceptable to any true Christian.

However, in engaging with Atiku’s and Peter Obi’s tickets, we are looking wide eyed at them in view of Christian interests which must be taken into considerations by them. Peter Obi with a Fulani Muslim VP candidate or Atiku who is a Fulani Muslim with a Christian VP must understand that a silent revolution is happening in Nigeria.
It is Youth Inclusion revolution
It is a revolution causing the transition of the hegemony of the Fulani. It is the beginning of their becoming equal stakeholders and not Lords over Nigeria.
It is a revolution of a new generation mindset in approach to Leadership
We refuse a false premise of dropping any of the above.
Nigerians both Christians and Muslims are embracing all the above.
To our Christian brothers and sisters, we have decided to work to ensure that all Christians in Nigeria and all Nigerians are aware of these issues. These issues are matters of life and death to our Northern as well as Southern Christian brethren and we stand solidly to ensure that we have an opportunity to have a say in the Nigeria project. Hence a lot of Christian leaders are being made aware of this position.
Even though we were unhappy with the decision of the APC to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket. We were pragmatic enough to calm our people down and ask what they want. Across the board, what Christians wanted most was a Nigeria where equity and justice reign and where every citizen has equal rights, and none is inferior to the other. We therefore realized that one of the main pressing issues to our people now is the removal of the Hegemony of the Fulani.
We therefore speak to our Fulani brothers that no one is saying they are not Nigerians. All we are saying is that their stranglehold rule over Nigeria is over. They must get used to the new normal that we are all equal. No Nigerian is inferior to another. When we stand together, we can all equally rebuild Nigeria. No Christian nor tribe will engage with the Fulani as inferiors again. We will stand shoulder to shoulder to rebuild Nigeria and transition her to the next generation in peace and without war. We therefore implore the leaders of the Fulani race to show good faith in 2023 they have had more than their fair share of leadership and the leadership going forward, must now be inclusive and any other attitude will be frowned at and rebuffed. We also implore the Fulani to show goodwill and a change from the provoking and arrogant rhetoric’s of the past
To all Nigerians, it is time we go back to simple common-sense decisions to rebuild our Nation Nigeria. We call on all people in the North, East, West and South to join hands to rebuild our beloved Nation Nigeria. The wind of change is blowing across Nigeria We must embrace it and flow with the change. When slavery was abolished, former slave owners spent financial and material resources to ensure the restitution of their past excesses and abuse. Those who understood and embraced the change evolved and became better leaders. Those who fought change became history

Therefore, let all Nigerians know we are at the Cusp of history. Nigeria is changing as we know it: the sentiment has changed. Every leader needs to embrace the change and channel it, so it does not lead to implosion. For example, for the 1st time the Hausa / Kanuri versus Fulani wrestle for power, in the North was pitched. The indigenous tribes are now more self-aware they demand change and inclusion in the Nigerian project. The Kanuri’s and the Hausas had the opportunity to recognize and embrace the moment that spelt change. They began to engage their Christian and Muslim counterparts so that for the first time they could produce the President or Vice President of Nigeria. That wave was gathering momentum until Tinubu choose the wrong person for the job. Tinubu’s choice has totally scuttled that process. So right now the political aspirations of the Hausa and Kanuri for Presidency or Vice Presidency has been scuttled by the error in Judgement of the APC Presidential candidate for choosing the wrong candidate who is un- acceptable to both Christians and Muslim indigenous people in the North. The Christians in Nigeria and patriotic indigenous Muslim population who will never vote for a terrorist sympathizer and enablers now have no choice but to embrace the two remaining viable parties who both still have Fulani in their mandate and the dreams of the Kanuri and Hausa is abated for another election. Tinubu’s loss is the gain of the Fulani. They have always s been master political strategists. However, they should note that the aspirations have been birthed and any party who ignores the aspirations of all Nigerians will do so to their own detriment. There is political awareness and political consciousness now birthed across the Nation

We laid the above bare, to let the leaders of Parties and the Stakeholders including the Fulani, know and recognize that every Nigerian is now politically Conscious. The body of Christ also, now has groups like ours who analyze policies and positions. So, it will not be business as usual. The era of fiefdom is over.

IT IS A NEW DAWN!

NNCC is privileged to see this promised Nigeria evolve. We will in the coming months reveal the areas of negotiations that are important to Christians and enable the parties to show us which one best serve Christian interests based on discussions with Christians across the Nation.

This time it’s not about appointments or money.
It is about dignity and the interests of the Body of Christ. We will no longer be negotiated or cajoled into servitude or bondage.

If politicians are pretending that they don’t want an Islamic Nation, their utterances and conduct and actions are proving otherwise. We will not seat aside and allow Politicians turn Nigeria into an Islamic Nation. We therefore demand equity and change.

Starting from our first demand which is to conduct a credible election and install a credible government which guarantees the interests and rights of Nigerian Citizens., to other aspirations we will bring them forth. For example, Christians requests a Census that captures the religion of every Nigerian as all other credible Nations do. Why did Nigeria remove Faith from Census Questions?

We will not be slaves in our land forthwith. What God gave us is freedom for partnership we will not accept bondage and slavery.
That is why we in NNCC and all we do including this write up
are about Christian strategic interests.

Our 50 million youths deserve change, and we thank God because the change is imminent
Our teeming Christian population in Nigeria-as well as all Nigerians deserves the best. No citizen of Nigeria deserves having their interests’ aspirations and welfare ignored like 2nd rate citizens. God is interested in Nigeria and has put human, material and financial resources in Nigeria to ensure that every Nigerian lives with equal opportunity to attain their full potentials as citizens of a great Nation with dignity, harmony and progress. When that happens the true wealth of Nigeria which is her human capacity will be unleashed for greatness

Sincerely Yours
