Last night, a pastor friend called me and said ‘Bola, please continue to pray for the Church and the prophetic ministry over this Donald Trump matter…”
Donald Trump again, I retorted. What has the prophetic ministry got to lose over Donald Trump?
“Bola, so many pastors said they saw him in the White House in 2021. They are still insisting he would be there. Some of the strong breeds of the prophetic are still insisting that by divine arrangement and supernal intervention, Trump is the US president till 2025!
The pastor now cautioned that if these prophecies do not come to pass, he fears the backlash on the Church and the prophetic ministry around the world. People might lose interest in the faith and the Church become a laughing stock! Bola, pray that the Church will not lose face over Trump, he concluded.
My thoughts:
The Church of God cannot lose face any day anywhere. Only those prophets who see from their myopic lenses constructed with greed and falsity would lose face. If God wants Trump there, let us wait and see. January 20 is but a few hours away!
We need to caution the prophetic ministry to be careful the way they speak on politics. Some prophetic would say God told them Trump would win. Others would say it’s Biden. The same scenario played out in 2015 in Nigeria when God was claimed to say it was Buhari and at the same time, it was Jonathan. Is God confused? Our pastors must be careful fa!
God is not an author of confusion. How can the same God be saying two different things to different people? This can’t be God, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, the same scenario is playing out on a global scale and we Church members would start defending our pastors from public ridicule.
I will not defend any pastor who cannot close his mouth. Not everything the Lord showed you is meant for public consumption. Our prophetic ministry should stop dragging the Church in the mud of political mudslinging, moral chicanery, media gerrymandering and social media mumbo-jumbo.
Leave Biden alone. No leader gets to power without the knowledge of God. Stop fighting for the Church. Jesus said ‘I will build my Church.’ No man can build the Church. No one of us can help God. The Church of God has no sponsor. You are too small to sponsor God. Biden is too small to destroy the Church of Jesus!
