josThe person sitting in white is the Saf Ron Kulere His Royal Highness Lazarus Agai and standing is Rev Dr Soja Bewarang on courtesy visit to HRH on the 3rd March 2016. A great monarch with great wisdom as King Solomon and a high sense of humor.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on behalf of the church on the Plateau received with greatest shock and total dismay the gruesome murder of the Saf Ron Kulere, His Royal Highness Chief Lazarus Agai by miscreants who waylaid him on his way back from the farm in the afternoon of July 18, 2016 along- side his aide and security.

The murder of His Royal Highness at a time when the Federal and State Governments are encouraging agriculture is a matter of great concern as well as causing fears in the minds of farmers. An act as this is threatening farmer – herdsmen co – existence and if left un checked will definitely frustrate Government laudable programs on agriculture.

CAN condemns in totality the brutal attack on the paramount ruler, and urges the government as a matter of urgency to fish out the culprits for prosecution.
In the same vein we call on the government to deploy all necessary measures to safeguard lives and properties of its citizens as the incessant attacks without arrest and prosecution of the culprits is worsening insecurity in the country.
CAN uses this opportunity to commiserate with Plateau State Government, the Traditional Council, the Ron Kulere and the entire people of Plateau over the irreparable loss. We pray that the good Lord will comfort you, and grant you the fortitude to bear the loss.

We wish to call on all Christians in Plateau State and Nigeria at large to fervently pray against the incessant attacks targeted at the church. We are confident that the prayer of the righteous avails much.
May God grant us all the serenity to draw closer to him at this time of need and to salvage Nigeria from those who want to see it destroyed.
Signed:
Rev Dr Soja Bewarang
CAN Chairman Plateau State
