Let’s us do a brief exercise:

Please take a deep breathe in…
Now, breathe out.

In …
Out …
Thank you.

Now, for what you have done freely, do you know how much that costs some people in Intensive Care Unit? They are human beings like you and I. We are not better than them.

In some Nigerian hospitals, oxygen is administered at the rate of N4,500 per hour for adults and N3,000 per hour for children.

For a whole day, the bill is N108, 000.
For a month, N3.24 million
For one year, N39.42 million

No wonder a woman told me at Federal Medical Center that they have spent N8.6 million on her husband. Another woman said they are planning to sell their property to take care of her husband.

To be admitted to the ICU, you must first drop N1.8 million! Just to be admitted. But you are not admitted there. You are in your house, eating eba and Ila alasepo, starch and Onugbu soup. You are still complaining!

The next time you are tempted to think that God seems to be unkind to you, remember that He gives you more than N3million oxygen benefit per month! You ungrateful lot.

That you and I have some needs yet to be met doesn’t mean God has forgotten you.

I want you to please raise your right hand and say these words:
Father, forgive me
For all expressions of ingratitude that I made
Yesterday, today or whenever.
I repent of all bitterness within me.
On my knees, I come to thank You
For the N3millon oxygen
That I get free of charge every month.
I praise your name that I can move my hands
I can move my legs, I can see. I can hear.
I have taken all these things for granted
Father, forgive me. Forgive me. Forgive me.
Father, I will never grumble again
I will learn how to thank You always
For the people paying N3million for oxygen
I am not better than them
Aanu ni mo ri gba (Your mercy sustained me)
In Jesus name I repent.

Amen.
