BETWEEN ‘LIVER POOL’ AND TIGER WOODS
A message of hope for mankind

*’Liver Pool’
*Tiger Woods
There is a kind of alliteration there. There is a kind of rhythm there. May your life have rhythm. May there be a beautiful alliteration in your story.

At the end, their stories are interesting. Everybody rejoiced with them, but ask the people involved, the experiences were like nightmares but they cuddled them like new babies! How many people could embrace nightmares while they lasted?

Take Liverpool football team as the first example: when the team was trounced 3-0 by Barca (pronounced Bassa) in the first leg, it was like the dream has ended. I am sure no one ever believed ‘Liver pool’ would have the liver to pull any surprise in the second leg. They were written off.

But know what, the players did not write themselves off. They summoned courage to believe in their dream… and it happened. ‘Liver Pool’ grabbed their liver and pulled a big one! 4-0

Today, so many football fans now claim to have changed their support from their teams to Liverpool. Failure has no friends. Success has so many fathers! This is unbelievable. Indeed, this is UNBELIVERPOOL!

Second example: Tiger Woods: This guy started well. As a black man, he went into a strange terrain and changed the settings of so many centuries. No black man ever recorded any major success in golf. It was predominantly a white man’s game of pleasure! Woods changed all of that. It was unheard of. He got to the peak and he became a household name.

In no time, enemies of his father’s house, the winches and wizards, as Nigerian pastors would always say, (chai!) went after him and brought him down.

He fell yakata to the lowest ebb of his career. He dropped to over 1000 in the golf rankings and fell from being the richest sportsman. His sponsors withdrew their endorsements and signatures, his wife (trust women now) divorced him. The hostile world wrote him off. Enemies of his father’s house (😁) wrote him out!

The press said he would never get to the peak of his career anymore. To seal the deal of woes, four surgeries were performed on his back in two years. In this state, few men would not fall into the trap of drunkenness to forget their sorrows. Sincerely, Tiger Woods, like Liver Pool, was down and out!

Today he is not only back to the top of his career, he has just won his 15th major title, three behind the 18 majors won by the legendary Jack Nicklaus.

Recently, my friend, Donald Trump (thank you for recognising Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Jewish people) honoured Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The guy is truly back!

Between Tiger Woods and ‘Liver pool’ is a story of dramatic come back, story of realisation of mistakes, story of mapping strategies, story of determination to break the limits.

Blessed are all problems of life, for out of them comes the making of man.

I speak to you my dear friend, your darkest day is not your end. The dark clouds has a shiny light behind it. Go for it like an eagle in the eye of the storm. All it takes is to tear the mask!

If Liver pool has the liver to pull it back, yes, you can..

If Tiger Woods could wake the tiger in the woods of his life, yes, you can.

Obafemi Awolowo, in one of his books *Voice of Courage* said, man must be flexible about means and method, but totally rigid and absolutely immutable about principles, ideas and goals, once one is convinced he is right.

All the days of your life, be hopeful that it is not over until you win!
