WHY POOR PEOPLE AND POOR NATIONS ARE POOR
(An Extract From Life’s Manual)

I love the guy who said, “wealth creation, has a formula.” I believe that is correct, but let’s ask; “what is the formula?” And if there’s a formula, we should next ask; “Who created the formula?”
Please journey with me as we go through this together, a journey I long started on my knees praying.

THE MANUAL
You know in the few years I have graciously lived, I have used several gadgets, permit me to focus on cars, and specifically, the brand new Toyota Hilux, I was given over a decade ago as an official car.

It was several years after, as I read an article in the Apostolic Faith magazine – The Higher Way (you should try to get copies of that magazine, they come free). There I read an article about MANUALS.

I realised, like several others, we buy gadgets and immediately start to use them without reading the manuals and before you know it, we;
– abuse the guarantee and warrantee privileges.
– use the gadgets wrongly and so damage them or reduce their life span.

I happened to be the chief law breaker, as far as reading manuals is concerned. I drove that Hilux and many other cars without reading their manuals, I have underused and overused several gadgets because I failed to read their manuals. But since my encounter, with that article on the Higher Way Magazine, my attitude changed.
Since then, I read the manuals of anything and everything I buy, that has a manual, trust me, life has been better of. Let me retrospect and get back on this.

WANTON AND RECKLESS
As a young man, which still I am. The best description of my past, would be reckless and wantom. I’d pause here and continue. I just wanted you to understand the hands, that is being used to reach you, courtesy renewal by embracing the author of life’s Manual. Let’s get back to the manual, and the whole tale would be harmonized together.

THE MANUAL CONTINUE
Remember, this piece is on why poor people and poor Nations are poor. Recall also that I started by quoting the man who said, “wealth creation has formula.” I later asked, what’s the formula and who’s the author of that formula?

Let’s tie that to the manual. Every genuine manufacturer, attach a manual to their product and there’s that instruction, that you read the manuals before usage. Such manuals may appear as terms and conditions. They may appear as prescription in a drugs – they are always there. They are like signs in a parking lots, which often reads; “CARS PARKED AT OWNERS RISK”. We already know the consequences and implications of ignoring a manual, so I wouldn’t bug you with that.

LIFE’S MANUAL
If we believe in God’s creation, then it must also be right to conclude that God wouldn’t leave man, without a manual. Right?
So what’s life’s manual? THE BIBLE. I’m not going to convince the skeptics or atheists to believe that, but would rather tell them, that whatever they believed in, came after the Bible. A lot of such scrupulous testaments are diluted extracts from the Bible – the undiluted word of God, infallible and proven over the years.

WEALTH FORMULA
So, the man who said wealth creation had a formula, was correct but wrong, by not pointing to the author and source of the wealth creation formula. Rather, what such people do, is to recite authorities and books, whose foundation is the Bible even though the authors try to disdain their source – the word of God.

Take this today and for the rest of your life, the author of the wealth creation formula is God. And for the purpose of this piece, I’d single out from the manual – the Bible, the reason POOR PEOPLE AND POOR NATIONS ARE POOR.

DISOBEDIENCE TO THE MANUAL
Recently, I hosted my annual event on October 1, 2019. On that day, the rain was heavy but still I held the event. I got bewildered and shocked by what happened.
– quite a lot of people who paid couldn’t attend
– those I even gave free tickets failed to attend.
– those who were sponsored failed to attend
Though the event was overbooked, so we had a sizeable crowd. Then I started to get excuses up till this moment and even yesterday October 16, 2019 – 15 days after.
Such excuses centred on “the heavy rainfall!”

I laughed inwards when I hear such, because it reminded me of an Extract from life’s manual and that happened to be the answer to the topic of this post. Read on.

THE ANSWER TO THE REASON POOR PEOPLE/NATIONS ARE POOR
Read from the manual and I’d wrap this lengthy but intentionally shortened piece.
“He who watches the wind will fail to sow, and he who observes the clouds will fail to reap.” Ecclesiastics 11:4.

Poor people and poor Nations live disobeying this extract from the manual. How?
– They are excuse givers
– they wait on others to work, while they watch.
– they are wishful thinkers
– they live by the cradles of laziness
– they treat their most valuable asset, TIME anyhow.
– they easily cave in to discouragement and discouraging situations and circumstances.
– As they watch all the threats, they fail to sow – embrace creativity and innovation – self empowerment and development.

– As they dwell on the hardship, without any to zero investment, there’s nothing to reap. So they’re at the mercy of those who embraced the rules of the manual, they are borrowers and always looking for grants, loans and help.
– They are heavily indebted because of their unproductive lifestyle.

WARNING
I wish to continue, the initiator of this piece would have me stop, but after I drop this warning.

A lot of people, including those who serve God, fail because they fail to read and live by the codes, conducts and ethics of life’s manual – the Bible. Whereas, even unbelievers of the author of their life, succeed by living their life by biblical principles. Why?

THERE IS THE PRINCIPLE OF CHRIST AND THE PERSON OF CHRIST
Living by the principle of Christ, works for believers and unbelievers. The reason Christ said, “not all who calls me Lord, would enter my kingdom and not all who perform miracles in my name would enter my kingdom”.

The sum total of this is in Galatians 6:7 “WHAT YOU SOW, YOU REAP”.
Sadly and strangely, poor people and poor Nations, either do not sow, or sow wrongly and sparingly. I’d conclude with what the manual says on this.

“Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” 2 Corinthians 9:6.
