Founder of Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan Bishop Wale Oke, has been elected the new President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

He was declared the new President after he was unanimously chosen by participants at the meeting of the National Advisory Council held at the Grace Cathedral, Enugu on Tuesday.

He takes over from Rev. Dr. Felix I. Omobude General Superintendent of Gospel Light International Ministries (New Covenant Gospel Church) with its international headquarters in Benin City, Nigeria. Bishop Oke was the Vice president of PFN while Omobude was the president.

Bishop Wale is a father-figure in Nigeria’s Christian community, a renowned evangelist, who, according to him was mandated by God to draw 100 million souls to heaven. According to information from his ministry, ‘for over thirty years, Oke has conducted mass crusades all over Nigeria with crowds of hundreds of thousand people in a single service.

He also conducts a prayer and intercession programme at the Federal Capital Territory Abuja Nigeria tagged The Nigeria Turning Point, this programme has brought millions of people together to pray for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria.

Oke hosts a daily broadcast on Nigeria national radio and television stations FRCN and NTA, Ibadan.  He is the founder of the International Bible College of Ministries and Seminary (IBCOMS). In 1989 after ten years of itinerary work all over Nigeria and various parts of the world, Francis Wale Oke founded the Christ Life Church which has grown exponentially having over two hundred branches located all over Nigeria.

The Sword of the Spirit Ministries under Francis Wale Oke has also established a strong ongoing work in the United Kingdom, Russia and the U.S.A. In November 1991, All nations for Christ Bible Institute awarded him an honorary doctorate under the auspices of Oral Roberts University for his outstanding contributions to world evangelism.

Recently, he was awarded the prestigious Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria’s (FRCN) award for outstanding contributions to religious harmony and human development.

PFN is the umbrella body that coordinates the activities of Pentecostal, Evangelical and Charismatic Ministries, Churches and Associations, for the purpose of unity as underlined by the prayer of the Lord Jesus in John 17.

PFN is an affiliate of the Christian Association of Nigeria in the group of PFN/CPFN. Her motto is “We ought also to love one another – (1 John 4 : 11)” To facilitate this, PFN operates at the National State, Local Govt. and Ward levels.
